Into this buzz steps you—a sharp-eyed idealist with grand plans to fix potholes, fund libraries, and give the people a voice. When a neighbor jokes that you should run for mayor, the idea sticks. Why not? Kakania needs someone who actually cares.

There’s much to learn. Eye-catching campaign materials, persuasive rhetoric, political propaganda—every tactic is new, every lesson a step toward influence. You begin as a committed democrat, winning trust one vote at a time. The rallies, late-night strategy sessions, and frantic scramble for funding test your resolve and sharpen your ambition. Yet with each triumph, a question lingers: when does popular support tip into unchecked power? When does a leader chosen by the people become something else entirely? Each vote you collect brings both a thrill and a warning—how far will you push the limits?

Your mission is simple: gather votes, grow your movement, and climb from local candidate to ruler of the stars. Today, you chase City Hall. Tomorrow…the universe. Every decision shapes your rise—and each step could rewrite the very heart of who you are.

President of the Universe Clicker (PotUC) is an idle clicker game where you play as an ambitious citizen of Kakania, launching your first political campaign. Click to gather votes and recruit others to click for you—but in this world, votes equal power, and power equals money. Why take the scenic route? Spend your votes directly on goods and services. Every decision comes with consequences that will challenge your conscience. Each upgrade draws from real political events, giving your choices a sobering edge. Will you stay true to your principles, or become consumed by an endless hunger for power?

PotUC presents an exaggerated tale of modern politics, exploring how democracy gets pushed to its breaking points in our current era. We've grounded every action in facts, sources, and additional context. While not every politician is corrupt, there's plenty of corruption and malice in the world—and this game aims to help you better recognize the schemes and behaviors of politicians worldwide.

PotUC is a collaboration between Knowledge in Crisis, Causa Creations, Ancient Pixel and Verena Loisel and was developed during the Truth, Lies and Democracy Game-Jam in Vienna 2025.
